Review: Partners In Crime - Jake Aldridge

Partners In Crime - Single

Jake Aldridge is brand new to the country scene, recently moving from rap/hip-hop music, to country music, he is looking at firmly putting his boots on and mucking down.

He is doing this by releasing his first single Partners in Crime, which is due for release on the 17th April.

The first thing I enjoy about the single, is he doesn’t give up entirely on his rap roots which he subtly blends into this genre. One of the great things about country music is the versatility and the diversity it brings, whether it be classic country, Pop country or Country rock. He truly is planting his feet into the pop-country genre.

Similar to the hit ‘One Thing Right’ by Kane Brown and Marshmello, the blend of different genres is smooth and slick it fits the song just right, particularly in the chorus. Featuring the softer vocals of Leanne Louise they are a match made in heaven. Although, it was back in 2012 when Jake heard Florida Georgia Line sing their hit song ‘Cruise’ with Nelly that Jake began to incorporate country music into his music such as his song ‘Gullible’ which features vocals by the wonderful BCMA award winner, Kezia Gill.

“It’s a huge change. Singing in general, is scary as hell for me! I’ve fallen in love with Country music though and one thing that hasn’t changed, is my eagerness to only release music that I’m passionate about”.

The song has been described already as showing his ‘cheekier side’ and ‘exposing Jake’s 'mischievous side’. This I can completely agree with. The video to Partners in Crime very much shows this and is certainly an entertaining watch!

Partners in Crime is very catchy and can possibly be the anthem this summer! Beach parties, festivals, clubs, this song suits all settings and will certainly prove to be the ear worm we all need!

With a couple of awards under his belt already, Male Act of the Year 2018 at the International Achievers Awards and the Audience Choice Awards in 2017 at the New Music Generator (NMG) Awards, we can be expecting big things from Jake in the new steps of his career.

Welcome to the family!
